I am in shock. Where did the last year go???? Everyone told me "it goes so fast" I was not prepared for just HOW fast time would go. I always wanted to be a mom but I had no idea how much I would love this child! She is getting to be so much fun. She is not walking yet, but I expect it won't be long. She is cruising pretty good and I have caught her standing on her own for seconds at a time. Usually she has a look on her face that says "uh oh now what do I do?" She has been sick a lot this month. She has gotten daycare germs and illnesses as I like to call them and now she has a sinus infection. Mark and I have taken turns staying home. I think daddy really likes having the time to himself with his baby girl. I hope that this will be the end of our sicky phase for a while anyway. She loves to say dada and still hasn't said mamma with purpose. She jabbers a lot though. When you hand her something she jabbers what I interpret as thank you!
I am sure she is a genius. The other day she had the remote and the back came off, Gracie picked it up looked at it for a minute and then tried to place it back on the remote. I think that is rather smart!
Shoes are an issue. Gracie does not like them so much. I keep telling her that one day she will LOVE them. She must wear shoes at school in the creeper room so we got some high top shoes (you know the ones- look like orthopedic shoes) that she can not take off- very easily. Momma dislikes them almost as much as Gracie does, but they get the job done.
Gracie is eating all table food with a few bottles to supplement. Her table manners are lacking so we are working on those. Her taste buds are fickle, I never know what she will like from one day to the next- with one exception- BANANAS. She loves bananas!
We love our little girl. A day does not go by that Mark or I don't say to each other how blessed we are.
